Amber Heard Reportedly In Talks To Play Mera

Late last year it was reported that Zack Snyder was looking to introduce Mera, Aquaman’s wife and Queen of Atlantis in 2017’s Justice League. The Hollywood Reporter is stating not only will the female heroine appear in the film, but that Amber Heard (Friday Night Lights, Magic Mike) is currently in talks with Warner’s for the role. Amber Heard’s name attached to the Mera role is something that has come out of nowhere. The names that have been floating around for the role of Queen Mera have been fan favorite Jessica Chastian, and Jessica Alba most recently. If this rumor is true, we will see Heard make her big screen debut in Justice League, out November 17th 2017, and then star opposite of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman when Aquaman debuts July 27th, 2018.

Mera is one of the most powerful females in the entire DC Universe.  With powers like  hydrokinesis Рwhich grants Mera the ability to form water constructs, she is a force to be reckoned with, and will be a great addition to the fast growing DC Extended Universe.
