Evan Peters Confirms: Quicksilver Is Magneto’s Son In “X-Men: Apocalypse”!

While in the comics, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff (Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch) are established as Magneto’s children, this connection has only been teased in the X-Men movie universe. Now, however, Evan Peters, who made his debut as Quicksilver in X-Men: Days Of Future Past confirmed it in a recent interview:

I have learned that he’s my father at this point and I am trying to … I don’t know what I can say. Yeah. It’s like an adoptive child or any kind of child who has a strange father trying to … He knows who he is now so he is trying to find him. He’s been searching for him. It’s been 10 years and he hasn’t found him and then something happens.

The two have obviously met before, in Days Of Future Past Pietro broke his father out of prison. What will be interesting to see, is their interactions in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. We already know Magneto will be one of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen, a bad guy, which can very well result in Pietro hesitating to fight him. They certainly have a complicated past, to say the least, and this won’t exactly make the relationship a more stable one.

Also, Quicksilver and Magneto being confirmed to be related like they are in the comics opens up the possibility of introducing Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlett Witch, to the X-Men on-screen universe.

In 2014, Quicksilver arguably had the best scene in all of Days of Future Past, and Peters also talked about that, teasing another big Quicksilver scene in the next installment:

Yeah, I think that’s been the hardest thing. Can we top it? They did such a f—-ing awesome job. The special effects team is amazing. Bryan Schmears over at Second Unit, everybody just made that whole sequence awesome, I thought. I was just a minion. They just told me what to do so I didn’t really have much to do with it but I was curious to see how they were going to top it and if they could and I think they have. I’m very excited to see it myself. I’m excited for everybody to see it because we’ve been working hard on it.

Are you excited about this? Do you hope to see Scarlett Witch introduced? Tell us in the comments!

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters May 27, 2016.
