Zack Snyder Praises Ben Affleck’s Batman

The Internet practically imploded when Snyder casted Ben Affleck as Batman. After the actor’s first attempt at playing a superhero role as the titular character in Daredevil, many wrote Affleck off completely as an actor. However, Ben has recently shown that he is a fantastic actor by giving award winning performances in The Town, Argo, and most recently Gone Girl, making him one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood. Affleck has also proved himself as a director, with his first directed movie Argo winning an Oscar in 2013 for Best Picture. However, with Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy ending just a year earlier before the announcement, fans didn’t think anyone other than Christian Bale should be allowed to play Batman in this new world Snyder was creating. Now with images, and trailers featuring “Batfleck” people are quickly becoming excited to see what Ben can bring new to the Caped Crusader.

“He’s an amazing Bruce Wayne, let’s just be frank about that. And then when he puts the cowl on, you know he’s got the chin for it,” Snyder tells PEOPLE magazine. *”Casting Ben felt like a no brainer to me.” “I know that there was some backlash, but he’s just so perfect to me, especially in his size and his age.” *

During the interview Snyder began to reminisce about the first photo he took with Affleck in the Batsuit.

“I took that picture of him next to the Batmobile.” “When I looked at the back of the camera to see what it looked like, I was like, ‘Holy s—, that is ridiculously perfect.’ ”

This version of the Dark Knight looks to be the most iconic, and comic book accurate version of the character yet. From the gadgets, down to the chin, Batfleck is shaping up to be the definitive Batman we might ever get.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: “Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth. As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman’s wrongs. The rivalry between them is furious, fueled by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25th, 2016.
