‘Arrow’ Set Photos May Reveal Major Character Death

At the end Arrow’s season 4 premiere episode titled “Green Arrow”, the show jumped forward six months where we see Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) standing in front of a grave where they have the following conversation:

Barry: “Sorry I missed the funeral.” Oliver: “Zoom?” Barry: “Yeah.” Oliver: ” There was a time where I would’ve thought this was my fault. That I brought this darkness upon us. But now I know it’s not my fault. It’s my responsibility…” Barry: “Responsibility to do what?” Oliver: “To end it. I’m gonna kill him.”

The camera never pans around for us to see the name on the tombstone, but by the look on Oliver’s face it’s definitely someone close to him. Since it was confirmed by the showrunners that the grave belongs to a series regular, fans have been debating which character we would be saying goodbye to this year. Throughout the season, multiple members of Team Arrow have come face to face with death. Felicity Smoak was the first this season to be faced with getting axed, but it’s now known that she has survived the ambush orchestrated by Damien Darhk.  At one point this year it seemingly appeared that Thea Queen would be the one to die due to the side effects of her being resurrected back in season 3. While the debate is still going strong amongst fans, leaked images of the funeral scene for this major character have leaked online, and thanks to Twitter user @ArrowSpain we may now know which of Oliver’s friends will die.

Above, you can see a group of people carrying a casket to the grave where we saw Oliver at the end of the season 4 premiere.

Here we see that Thea Queen, John Diggle, Captain Lance, and Felicity are all present at the funeral. All of Team Arrow is here except for one important character…

Based off this image, and the fact that Quinten Lance and Laurel appear to be filming a flashback scene due to their clothing, and hair color, we can now assume that Dinah Laurel Lance will be the one that is killed off at the end of this season of Arrow. Laurel’s death would definitely be a huge loss to Team Arrow. She’s been on the show since season 1, and has really grown as a character in the time since she’s be featured. While this may not be 100% conformation, it is worth mentioning how both of these actors look, and how different it is compared to their current appearances on the show.

Katie Cassidy’s hair color on the funeral set greatly resembles her season 1 look as opposed to her current one she has. The same goes for Paul Blackthorne who’s hair is greatly different from the way he looks now considering he’s shaved it off. The only explanation I could come up with is that this is indeed Laurel’s funeral, but Katie and Paul’s season 1 looks on set are due to the fact of this being a flashback scene to Sara Lance’s funeral.

Here we see Laurel Lance attending her sisters funeral after they thought she was killed along with Oliver Queen when the Queen’s Gambit was destroyed. What I believe will happen is that Laurel will indeed die, and this flashback scene will be had by Captain Lance where he remembers attending his other daughter funeral. It’s all speculation at this point, but based on the evidence, it seems more likely than not that Laurel Lance won’t be making it out of season 4 alive. If true, this most likely adds fuel to the rumor of Zack Snyder gearing up to introduce the Laurel Lance/Black Canary character into Justice League Part One. The CW has been known to kill off characters who are set to appear in the DC Cinematic Movie Universe such as Deadshot, and Amanda Waller. How do you feel about this? Do you think Laurel will be killed off? Do you think it should be someone else like Felicity? Let us know in the comments or on Instagram @DCUNews.
