Stephen Lang Interested In Playing Cable In ‘Deadpool’ Sequel

After what has been already, and is looking to remain a surprisng success, Deadpool has worked its way into the record books. Taking the titles for largest opening night for an R-rated film, and is tracking to be the largest February opener. There was no doubt the film would sit well with fans of comic books, but it seems the movie-going public is enjoying the adaptation as well.

There have been rumors for a few months now that if Deadpool did well, 20th Century Fox would order a sequel for the film, taking the June 9th, 2017 release date that the Fantastic Four sequel originally held. Now that the film has hit well at the box 0ffice, fans have already begun rallying for a sequel. Shortly after the movie released, rumors arose claiming Fox has greenlit the sequel and will include fan favorite time-traveling mutant; Cable. The son of Cyclops will likely make his big screen debut next June!

Along with rumors of a new character joining the X-Men Universe comes fan casts. Stephen Lang has been a fan favorite for a while, along with actors like Liam Neeson and Arnold Schwarzenegger. After Lang’s amazing performance in the wildly sucessful Avatar movie, fans have wanted to see him take on a superhero. So with Cable clearly appearing in the sequel and fans wanting Lang to suit up for the role, does he actually want to? According to a Tweet let out yesterday, absolutely.
