With the release of season two of Daredevil, the show’s star Charlie Cox is already thinking ahead for next season’s villains. In an interview with ScreenRant, Cox had this to say:
“If we are fortunate enough to continue making the ‘Daredevil’ Series, I can’t imagine doing a run of ‘Daredevil’ where Bullseye doesn’t show up at some point. It would be great to have him around at some point. Who would play the part I have no idea but I just think there’s such an interesting, rich character there, and also of course, the history that Bullseye has with Karen Page is an interesting dynamic.”
Fans went insane when news leaked about Jason Statham being in negotiations to play the part of Bullseye in Daredevil season two, however he dropped out of the deal for reasons that aren’t very clear.
Despite the character falling through for the second season, this news brings hopeful information that Marvel has already considered bringing Bullseye into the franchise, and will continue to do so in the next season. This addition would fit in nicely with the series, given Karen Page is a key character, whom also has a history with Bullseye in the comics. For those who aren’t aware, Bullseye killed Karen in an issue of Daredevil in 1999. In season two, the Punisher says to Daredevil, “You’re one bad day away from being me” and that “one bad day” could be Bullseye killing Karen in the next season. This is not a spoiler for anyone who has not finished the season yet, as the quote was heard in one of the season’s trailer. This could bring out a darker side in Matt Murdock as he goes on his crusade to take down Bullseye, perhaps by any means necessary, bringing Punisher’s words into fruition. Nothing about season three is set in stone, and all of this is purely speculation at this point.
What do you guys think? Would you like to see Bullseye show up in season three? If not, what villain would you like to see? Let us know in the comments!
