After you’ve thought you’ve seen it all in superhero movies, Peyton Reed guarantees you haven’t. Last summer, we saw a new take on the word superhero and what it means to help out. In Peyton Reed’s most recent contribution to the MCU, we saw things we thought we would’ve have seen in a modern comic book movie such as:
Clearly, Reed went for the comedic approach while sticking to Marvel’s uber-successful formula. Add “Captain America” ally and close friend Falcon in a cameo and it should make for a pretty successful movie. Peyton had this to say when being asked about the upcoming sequel:
“We’ve actually been holed up in the room writing the movie — myself, Paul Rudd, Adam McKay, Andrew Barrer and Gab Ferrari,” Reed told us. “So we’re formulating the whole structure of the movie. And I can’t really tell you too much yet, except there are going to be things in this movie that you’ve never seen in any movie before. It’s going to be nuts!”
Clearly, no one can even begin to speculate what that could mean for ‘Ant-Man’ in 2018. We know that Peyton will make the Wasp a central storyline in the movie while introducing her subtly in the MCU but could we see her doing things we’d never thought Hope do? We’ll have to wait and see. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is set to be released July 6th, 2018.
