As ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ enters it’s 5th week of release, it slowly creeps its way towards the top 10 highest grossing comic book movies at the box office. In the last few days it has surpassed ‘Iron Man’ which was sitting at number 11.
So far, ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ has made just over $319 million domestically and over $851 million worldwide. Marvel’s ‘Iron Man’ made just over $318 million world wide and just over $585 million worldwide. Obviously, this means that ‘Batman V Superman’ surpassed the worldwide total of ‘Iron Man’ a while ago. In order to crack the top 10 highest grossing comic book movies of all time, ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ needs to make a further $14 million to beat out Marvel’s ‘Guardian’s of The Galaxy’. An amount that it will most likely make.
The reviews for the movie were slightly more negative than DC was hoping for, with the negativity focusing on the pacing and the flow of the story. However this should barely affect the end worldwide total for the movie. One thing that fans can agree on is that it was great to see the man of steel and Gotham’s dark knight on screen for the first time.
Batman and Superman will appear along side Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) in ‘Justice League’ which hits theatres on November 17th 2017.
