‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Episode 2.02 “We All Fall Down’ Review

This review may contain mild spoilers for this and past episodes of ‘Fear The Walking Dead’

The plot synopsis for this episode is:

“The group seeks shelter with a survivalist family; and Madison tries to uncover the family’s true motives. Meanwhile, Salazar works to discover Strand’s intentions.”

This episode of ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ entitled ‘We All Fall Down’ keeps up the slow burn pace the show has had since the first season last year, but it is still much more interesting. So far, I am liking this season much more than the first. While the pacing is slower, it is more interesting. This episode takes the group off of the yacht they were on in the last episode to an island looking for people, supplies and any information on where they should go. They meet new characters George, his wife Melissa, and their three children, Harry, Willa and Sam. Something is off about the family and Madison tries to figure out any ulterior motives they may have, while Daniel Salazar attempts to learn more about the shady yacht owner Strand’s intentions. While the slow burn of the series might turn off some viewers, it is interesting to see a new group of survivors learn to adapt and survive in the new world. This episode keeps up the intriguing mystery that the premiere started last week. With an unknown and unseen other vessel following the group, the new family and Strand becoming increasingly strange, there is a lot of mystery to keep the fans guessing about what will happen next and the way the episode wraps up is fantastic, in a dark way, I think.

Now for my complaints about this episode. Travis’s son Chris is just as annoying and punch-able this season as he was in the last one. I hope his character is developed better. I also don’t like the show using slow indie sounding music every episode, it sounds like something that belongs in a CBS cop show, but that’s just me.This show has a lot of room for improvement and could become even better than the flagship show. I think in the future, once all of the characters are used to the zombie apocalypse, as most of them were in the first season of ‘The Walking Dead’ since it started six months in, that the pace will be picked up and we will see more action.
