Gary Oldman On J.K. Simmons Cast As Comissioner Gordon

In a recent interview with Yahoo Gary Oldman spoke on J. K. Simmons being cast in his old role of Commsioner Gordon in the DCEU.

Oldman: “The thing you’ve just got to get used to with Gordon is he’s a really sound detective, first of all and he’s really incorruptible, which is a kind of wonderful quality to play and sort of, like, true blue.”

Oldman is highly praised for his performance as the Commisioner in Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. When it comes to the approach to the character this is what Oldman had to say.

Oldman: “He’s like a Watson, oddly. He’s sort of like Watson to Sherlock, is Gordon to Batman.”

When Oldman learned that Simmons was succeeding him in the role.

Oldman: “God bless him. That’s what I say, yeah.”

J.K. Simmons has the blessing from Gary Oldman and the support of myself! Simmons will make his first DCEU appearance as Commsioner Gordon in next years Justice League.
