After the release of Batman V Superman and the commencement of the filming of Justice League, anticipation for upcoming DC movies has risen. While many new DC movies are slated to release in the coming years to expand the DCEU, Dwayne Johnson has voiced his excitement just as much as fans have, if not more, for the Shazam film. The Rock, casted as the film’s antagonist Black Adam, has frequently been voicing his excitement since he was casted.
After recently being asked on Twitter whether The Rock would enjoy having his Black Adam character fight Superman in the upcoming films, he replied:
“Won’t happen in the first movie, but nothing would make me happier. He’s got it comin’. #BlackAdamVsSuperman #Shazam”
Could we expect Black Adam to fight not only Shazam in the DCEU, but The Man of Steel as well? The two heroes have fought Black Adam together before in the comics, and this would make an enjoyable fight to watch on the big screen. However, there are still many details that need to be released in regards to the first Shazam movie before too much speculation can be done for the sequels.
Shazam is slated to premiere in theaters in 2019.
