When Marvel’s Jessica Jones released on Netflix last year it was a huge hit among fans, just like Daredevil. One of Jessica Jones’s accomplices (who also happened to be her boss) was the highly ambitious and unscrupulous lawyer Jeri Hogarth, played by Carrie-Ann Moss. She even had a short cameo in one episode of season two of Daredevil, offering Foggy Nelson a job in her firm.
Recently, Moss was confirmed to be reprising her role as Hogarth in the upcoming Netflix show Iron Fist, which will further the Defenders universe:
“Danny Rand lives in the highest stratosphere of New York’s business society and he’s going to need a ruthless lawyer to help him navigate this alien world,” showrunner Scott Buck says. “I’m very happy to have the opportunity to bring Carrie-Ann Moss as Jeri Hogarth into Marvel’s Iron Fist.”
And Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb added:
“Carrie-Anne has fast become a fan-favorite part of our street level saga, and we share our viewers’ excitement in bringing her into ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist.’ As Marvel fans know, Hogarth in the comics plays a critical role in the life of Danny Rand so it seems only fitting that Carrie-Anne join in.”
This indeed sounds like Hogarth’s role in the show will be very similar to what it is in the comics; as Danny Rand returns to New York from K’un L’un, she serves as his attorney and advisor.
Moss, who undoubtetly also will return for season two of Jessica Jones, joins Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, and Tom Pelphrey for Iron Fist.
