Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC Cinematic Universe may scratch their heads when they come across the word Dredd. Dredd was an unsuccessful comic book that was chosen to be adapted as a live action movie. While it may not have profited much financially, it developed a bunch of die-hard fans who are itching to get more Dredd action. After multiple petitions to release a sequel were turned down, Karl Urban, who portrays Dredd in the movie, got desperate. In his desperation, he asked for a TV series to be streamed on services such as Netflix and Amazon. Things are looking up for Karl Urban because discussions of an original TV series is being discussed these days at one of the streaming services mentioned above. Fans might take these words with a grain of salt because they’ve been let down multiple times in the past but maybe Dredd makes an appearance on the big screen again. Producer Adi Shankar said last year that because of the film’s poor box-office performance — it grossed $41.5 million worldwide, falling short of its production budget — someone of Dwayne Johnson’s caliber would have to sign on for a sequel to secure financing.
