According to a Fandango poll which polled over 1000 people who have already either purchased their tickets for or seen Captain America: Civil War, Black Widow is the clearly favored candidate for a standalone Avengers film. She led the poll with an astonishing 48%, followed by Vision (15%), Falcon (12%), Hawkeye (10%) War Machine and Scarlett Witch (8%, 7%).
Just a few weeks back, we wrote about an interview with Kevin Feige, in which he said that a Black Widow solo movie “at some point would be great”. So, this is definitely not an impossibility. Aside from a movie, a Black Widow Netflix show à la Daredevil or Jessica Jones has also been rumored for a while, although this is less likely; a MCU character probably wouldn’t switch over to the TV world, as the two, despite being set in the same universe, haven’t really been connected.
The possible storylines for Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff are seemingly endless. Set in the past, maybe, telling the story of the KGB agent who switched sides and joined S.H.I.E.L.D? Or equipped with the task of recruiting new Avengers, after Infinity War? There are many good options.
