Mark Ruffalo Talks a “Hulkier Hulk” and Hela’s Role for ‘Ragnarok’

For those who were upset by the absence of Hulk in Civil War, Mark Ruffalo has revealed some information about the big green fighting machine’s role in next year’s Thor: Ragnarok. During a press stop for Ruffalo’s Now You See Me 2, it was actually his co-star Woody Harrelson asked him about how the Hulk will behave in the film, and this is what he had to say:

“I think it’ll be smashing. You’ll see a lot more Hulk in this one. The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.”

It sounds like we’ll be getting enough Hulk to more than make up for his absence in Civil War. It will be interesting to see how he fairs alongside Asgardians, for their enemies tend to be a bit bigger and badder than those that are earthbound, and they should give this Hulked-out Hulk a lot of targets to release his rage on.

Lauren Zima from Entertainment Tonight also got a chance to ask Ruffalo about the movie’s villain Hela, and his response  is promising:

“She plays the worst of the worst. So evil. She is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play.”

Someone is going to kill the two strongest heroes on the Avengers’ roster? That sounds like a crazy dynamic to see play out. How Banner ends up with Thor is still unclear, but perhaps Hela is just too powerful and Thor tags in the Hulk because he’s the only other muscle who might stand a fighting chance.

What do you guys think? How does Bruce Banner get to Asgard? Where is he now? Are you excited to see an even more unleashed Hulk? Let us know in the comments as well as on our Twitter and Instagram!
