Stan Lee Likes Captain America Twist; Expects To See It On Screen

The only way you could’ve missed the recent twist to Captain America in the Marvel comics is if you haven’t been on the internet at all – heck, it was even in the newspaper in some places. Basically, in the new Steve Rogers: Captain America #1 it was revealed that Steve Rogers is not the goody two-shoes we all know and love – he’s actually been working for the Nazi organization HYDRA all along.

While a great many fans do not like this twist at all, Marvel master mind Stan Lee stated that he actually really likes it. It wasn’t his idea though, as Captain America is one of the few characters Lee didn’t create.

“It’s a hell of a clever idea; I don’t know that I would ever have thought of it for him to be a double agent, but it’s going to make you curious, it’s going to make you want to read the books, they’ll probably do a movie based on it,” he told an audience at MegaCon this weekend. “So I can’t fault it; it’s a good idea. I think it’s crazy, but it’s a good idea.”

“A movie based on it”? Now that would be something, wouldn’t it? I doubt it’ll happen though, as The Winter Soldier was about taking down HYDRA, not joining or working for it. You can check out the video where he said it here.
