As the second season of The Flash came to a close, we saw Jesse Quick and her father Harrison Wells return to their home on earth-2.
Wells, played by Tom Cavanagh, has been confirmed to return as a series regular for season 3. And as for Quick, played by the very talented Violet Beane, her time on the show isn’t finished yet either, she told TVLine
“I know I’ll be back, But I don’t know if it’s with or without powers.”
Earlier in the season, both Jesse and Wally were hit with the Speed Force and many presumed we would be seeing their powered up selves at some point but up until now it still hasn’t happened.
“When Jesse got hit, I was like ‘It’s happening! It’s happening! There was the spark when she got out of the coma, but… it didn’t happen, and I was like, ‘No!’ I’m very excited [to play a speedster], and would love for it to happen early next season,”
The upcoming season will be tackling the Flashpoint storyline from the comics, in which Barry goes back in time and stops his mother’s death, creating an alternate timeline where nothing is as he remembers. A world wher Thomas Wayne takes up the mantle of Batman after the death of his son Bruce, and both Aquaman and Wonder Woman lead their armies against each other to war. While they most likely won’t be doing anything like this in the show, it does give the writers some more room to get creative.
“With the whole Flashpoint, anything can happen, right? It’s literally open to any different kind of false reality,” Beane noted. “She could be Earth-One Jesse, she could be a speedster…. Who knows!”
The Flash is currently on hiatus and will begin filming later this month to return this fall on The CW. Be sure to follow us on both Instagram and Twitter @ComicDrops!
