Nova Solo Film is a Possibility; Marvel Won’t Leave Us Hanging Again at SDCC?

During Guardians of the Galaxy, we got a look at the Nova Corps, and it got many fans itching for an appearance of Nova himself, or even a role for him in the next movie. Alas, James Gunn has stated that he wants to keep Peter Quill as the only human in the films. But in his most recent Q&A with fans he made a comment that might still leave a glimmer of hope for fans of the character:

“I think there is always a chance of a Nova movie. I don’t think it’s something I would do. But it’s possible.”

While Gunn seems to have faith in Nova getting his own movie, it doesn’t look like something he wants to be a part of. That’s a little surprising, because he helmed GotG phenomenally and it would make sense to have him at the reigns for another space-centered movie.

During that same Q&A someone asked if he would be at SDCC this year, and his response may get Marvel fans excited after last year’s disappointment:

“Am I going to San Diego Comic-Con!? That’s a good question! You guys want me to go to San Diego Comic-Con? You’ll have to see! I would like to go. That would be amazing, wouldn’t it? I would like to come and see you all at San Diego Comic-Con and bring some friends along. That would be awful fun. That would be awful fun. I would really love to do that.”

Maybe those friends he would like to bring are the cast of GotG Vol. 2? It would make sense for them to release a small teaser for the movie, and if Marvel does in fact go, there are many more films coming out next year that they could tease. Nothing has been confirmed however, so we’ll have to take it as it comes.

What do you guys think? Did you want to see Nova with the Guardians? Are you hoping that Marvel green-lights the project? Let us know in the comments as well as on our Twitter and Instagram!
