CW DC Universe To Introduce New LGBT Character

Among the news that has recently dropped for the upcoming seasons of the DC shows on the CW, we have learned that a new LGBT character will come into play somewhere. Executive producer Andrew Kriesberg stated:

“One of the characters will be exploring their sexuality and coming out.”

Not giving up much information, Greg Berlanti elaborated further:

“It is a significant character. We’re not trying to be coy about it…we just really want the audience to enjoy the character development and not be ahead of the storyline.”

We know that the writers  don’t shy away from using LGBT characters (Curtis Holt, Sara Lance, Nyssa Al-Ghul) so this isn’t much of a surprise, but the question now is who exactly will this new character be? Could we see Alan Scott as the Green Lantern of the Justice Society? We’ve seen hints at Ferris Air perhaps nods to Hal Jordan, but for the television universe they could easily take the liberty with that and make it Scott instead, perhaps as a repercussion of Flashpoint? We’ll have to wait and see, so stay tuned for updates!
What do you guys think? Would you want to see Alan Scott show up? Do you have a different character in mind they could bring in? Let us know in the comments as well as on our Twitter and Instagram!
