Even though Suicide Squad wasn’t a critical success, it did make some money for Warner Brothers and the cast of the film did a brilliant job portraying their characters according to fans. One of the stand out performances of the movie was Margot Robbie who played Harley Quinn. It was reported a few months ago that Robbie’s production company signed a first look deal with Warner Brothers regarding a spin of movie that will not necessarily be a Harley Quinn solo movie, but will include Margot’s character. Now, The Wrap is reporting that Christina Hodson (Shut In, The Fugitive) will be writing the project.
Keep in mind the fact that this movie has not been officially confirmed by Warner Brothers or anyone close to the project. The Wrap’s report goes on to say that the spin off film will include the Birds of Prey. A team from the comics that, in the film, may include characters such as Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman – a sort of mashup between Birds of Prey and the Gotham City Sirens.
Hodson’s latest project Shut In certainly has an interesting premise and fans certainly want to see more of Margot as Harley Quinn in future movies, but we will have to wait and see if more official news hits the web any time soon.
