Jeffrey Dean Morgan Compares Negan To “Flashpoint” Batman

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been making headlines as The Walking Dead‘s Negan for months now, but comic book fans have not forgotten that he also portrayed Thomas Wayne in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice earlier this year – alongside Lauren Cohan as Martha Wayne, who plays Maggie Greene on The Walking Dead.

Although Thomas Wayne is obviously dead in the DCEU, Morgan has voiced his desire to play “Flashpoint” Batman; a character everyone might not be familiar with. During the “Flashpoint” event, Barry Allen, also known as the Flash, travels back in time to save his mother’s life, thus altering the timeline itself. The Butterfly Effect does its thing, and we wind up with an entirely new reality, where Bruce Wayne died as a young child and Thomas Wayne is the Batman. This version of the Dark Knight, primarily driven by revenge, is a lot darker than the normal one, as he kills people on a regular basis.

While at Walker Stalker Con, Morgan once again talked about this wish of his.

“[…] is there another plan for that Thomas Wayne character? We’ll see. I don’t know. I would love to be the dark Batman. That’s the darkest Batman there is. God knows I embrace the darkness.”

He then connected that back to Negan, by saying, “Flashpoint Batman would be like doing a comedy compared to being Negan.”
