After months of speculation, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has finally confirmed what role Michael Keaton will be playing in the Sony and Marvel produced Spider-Man: Homecoming which hits theatres next year. It was announced a while ago that Keaton was going to play a role in the upcoming movie starring Tom Holland, and a lot of fans speculated that he was going to play the classic Spider-Man villain ‘Vulture’. In an interview with Toronto Sun, Feige confirmed the news while addressing the other big names in upcoming Marvel movies such as Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War…
“We’ve had a wish list, and most of them in the near-term are coming together. Cate Blanchett is playing Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man [Homecoming] is something. And of course, finally, we’re showcasing Josh Brolin’s Thanos (in Avengers: Infinity War). We’re looking forward to that very much.”
The most baffling thing about this whole ‘Michael Keaton being cast as Vulture’ scenario is that out of all the set photos that appeared online during the filming for Spider-Man: Homecoming, not ONE photo of Michael Keaton. They did a fantastic job of keeping that under wraps but not it has been released. The film is set to release in July next year so a first teaser trailer cannot be far away at all even though we may not see Vulture in the first trailer.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled to hit theatres on July 7th 2017!
