Details have emerged about the new actors roles in the 8th episode in the main Star Wars saga, specifically Benicio Del Toro, and Laura Dern. These details should be taken with a grain of salt, as we won’t truly know who these characters are until the movie comes out.
The Wrap reported that Benicio Del Toro’ character will be a villain. He has been described as a “man in black”. Making Star Wars states this:
“He wears all black and he’s dangerous. His character is clean shaven with hair not unlike Poe Dameron’s in length. It doesn’t appear the heroes see del Toro as a bad guy, at least not at first. We think he’s connected to the casino set we talked about sometime ago.”
There were also interesting details about Laura Dern’s character. Apparently her character’s appearance is very fashionable and over-the-top. Making Star Wars states this:
“Probably the most bombastic of the new characters from the rumors we’ve heard. She is very aristocratic and fancy in a way we haven’t really seen in Star Wars before. Her look is unique. Someone compared her design to The Hunger Games-meets-Star Wars. Dern wears a “fancy” dress and her hair is like something out of the prequels. The biggest defining detail of this new character played by Laura Dern is that she has pink hair in Star Wars: Episode VIII. Sources are at a loss for words when they tried to describe her hair which is very ornate, almost like something out of the Outlander Club in Attack of the Clones.”
A new actress also cast in the movie is newcomer Kelly Marie Tran. This is her first movie, and she’s known for being part of CollegeHumor. Making Star Wars said her character is very normal looking, and is somehow involved with Finn.
While Rogue One comes out in less a month, fans are still excited for the film that comes out in December 2017. Everything about this movie is being kept under wraps. Even the proper title has been kept secret, with so far the film being just called Star Wars: Episode VII. The movie will continue the adventures of Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, and Kylo Ren. Luke Skywalker is expected to have a bigger role than The Force Awakens, with Leia also making a return.
