The second season of Netflix’s Stranger Things is about to start production, and with that, new cast members have been announced! The series is adding three new characters, one of which sounds very much like Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven.
Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen has been cast as Roman. Roman’s description seems very similar to Eleven:
“She’s an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab…”
Sean Astin, known for his roles in The Goonies and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, has been cast as Bob Newby:
“He’s a kindhearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour) and now manages the local Hawkins RadioShack.”
Paul Reiser, known for his role in Aliens, has been cast as Dr. Owens, who appears to possibly be the government baddie for the new season:
“He’s a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.”
Major details about season two are still unclear, but considering production is just beginning, more is surely to be released. Stranger Things season two will debut in 2017.
