The CW Debuts New DCTV Crossover Trailer; Confirms Deathstroke

This year’s Arrowverse mega crossover promises to be bigger than any before, as both the Legends of Tomorrow and the newly introduced Supergirl will be joining the mix. The four-part event will air from November 28 through December first, with one episode airing each night on one of the four individual shows. The crossover will adapt the 1980 Invasion! storyline from DC Comics, where a hostile alien race known as The Dominators invades Earth.

Yesterday, the CW released the second teaser trailer for Invasion! which gives us our first look at the Dominators and also a quick  glance at Deathstroke! Check it out:

“This year, for our mega ‘Arrowverse’ crossover, we’re taking inspiration from a DC crossover from the late 1980s known as Invasion!, which featured an alien race called the Dominators, who’d previously vexed the Legion of Superheroes,” said Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim. “We’re using cutting-edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look which is faithful to ‘Invasion!’ artist Todd McFarlane’s interpretation of the characters.”

Guggenheim also teased that the crossover will be revolutionary in terms of technology in network television and really more resembles a movie than four individual TV shows.

We’re doing by far the most ambitious crossover we’ve ever done. It’s basically a huge three-part story that also brings in Supergirl, so it’s crossing over all four shows. It’s telling one big epic movie of a story. It’s not setting up any other spin-offs, it’s just big, bombastic, huge action. There’s also some really poignant character moments. There’s a lot of plot lines, particularly I would say in ‘Flash’ and ‘Legends’, that come to fruition in the crossover. It’s by far the most ambitious thing we’ve ever attempted. I want to say it’s by far one of the most ambitious things anyone in network television has ever attempted. It’s completely insane.”

It’ll certainly be cool to see our favorite heroes join forces to defeat a common enemy, but I for one am most excited to see some of these very fundamentally different characters interact with one another.
