While Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman will be featured in Justice League, and premiered briefly in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the character will receive his first solo movie appearance in 2018. Directed by James Wan, the film has already cast the likes of Willem Dafoe and Patrick Wilson in supporting roles, two experienced actors who have worked on superhero films in the past.
Adding onto the production team, the stunt team that worked on the critically acclaimed, award-winning Mad Max: Fury Road will reportedly work on Aquaman as well. This is huge news, as some of the best parts of Fury Roadwere the thrilling action and stunt sequences. The team members are known as the Gold Coast performers, and are likely working on the film as a result of Aquaman being filmed in Australia.
The team is currently practicing and training for their work on the film. Concerning what exactly they were training for, stunt director Keir Beck had this to say:
“General stunt skills, fighting, if there is water sequences obviously being capable and competent in water.”
