RUMOR: Damien Wayne ‘Batman’ Game In The Works At WB; ‘Suicide Squad’ Title Canceled

Back in September, we reported on a rumor that stated WB Montreal – the studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins – was secretly developing another Arkham game after Rocksteady decided to move on from the franchise after the conclusion of Arkham Knight. According to Kotaku who claims to have sources close to the game’s development, WB Montreal was not only working on the unannounced Batman game but also a Suicide Squad title which has since been canceled. The Squad game was said to be co-op, “Arkham-like” in terms of combat and feature various members of the villainous team, but the higher ups at Warner Bros weren’t impressed with what they’d seen at the greenlight meetings.

Sources say that the game has been officially canceled so that the studio can focus full-time on the next Batman game that will reportedly star Damian Wayne as the Caped Crusader.

Before this year’s Game Awards kicked off, rumors began swirling that WB was set to introduce the next Batman title during the event, but a recent shakeup with WB Montreal’s studio head might’ve caused a delay in its official reveal. With 2016 coming to a close it’s unlikely that we’ll see anything regarding this game before the new year.
