With so many Marvel films opening or starting their productions, its surprising that yet another film is already about to start its filming. Ant-man and The Wasp is aiming to start production this June in Atlanta as listed on IMDb’s website.
The June production’s start is very relative to what Marvel’s own Kevin Feige told Collider at last summers San Diego Comic-Con.
The Ant-Man sequel looks like it will include almost all of the same cast, like Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, and Michael Douglas.
Peyton Reed, director of the first film, will return to direct with Michael Mann collaborator Dante Spinotti (Heat, Public Enemies, Manhunter, L.A. Confidential).
The script was written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, and the story is said to be the origin of Hope’s transformation into The Wasp.
No official villain has been named for the film, but it is hoped by many that Anthony Masters (Taskmaster) might be a possible option, as recently revealed by 20th Century Fox, that his rights are no longer with them.
Ant-Man and The Wasp’s release date is set for July 6th, 2018.
