Ben Affleck Updates Status On ‘The Batman’ Saying It’s Going As Expected

The status of the upcoming solo Ben Affleck directed Batman film has been a topic of discussion for the last couple of weeks. It has gone to them saying the script is in development, to there being no script, to production being delayed, to Affleck himself saying it’s not a sure thing, etc. Well Affleck in an interview has assured that the production of the movie is going well, and that they are “good and going”. The interviewer brings up the movie at about the last 10 seconds of the video below.

Fans have been worried that the movie was having productions issues like the recent Suicide Squad, which many call a mess. A lot are hoping this Batman movie directed by Academy Award winner Ben Affleck to not disappoint, with hopes of a quality product.

Affleck is also saying that he really wants to take his time with this film, and doesn’t want something that feels rushed or mediocre. Speaking with IGN, Affleck said this:

“I’m really excited. There’s great stuff in it now. It just needs to get better and better. It’s the same way I felt about this movie [Live By Night] as I was prepping it…but it took me a year plus to get this movie ready to launch. Hopefully it won’t take me that long for Batman, but we’re working. I think we’re ahead of the curve, and we’re excited.”

It’s good news to hear that things are going well for this highly anticipated film. It’s clear that Affleck cares deeply about making a special movie, and wants to do it the way he wants to.

As of right now, the film will start production in the spring, with a release date of sometime in 2018. Affleck will star and direct the movie, with Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, and Joe Manganiello in the cast.
