After making his debut in Captain America: Civil War, fans around the world fell in love with Tom Holland’s take on Peter Parker / Spider-Man. Holland, like neither Tobey Maguire nor Andrew Garfield before him, had managed to perfectly capture the essence of the character and he stole almost every scene he was in.
Perhaps the most memorable moment was his fight against Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Sam Wilson / Falcon (Anthony Mackie), during which he cracked jokes and made every Spidey fan in the audience smile like a little child. Coming in July, Holland will embark on his first solo adventure as the web-slinger and Anthony Mackie is more than confident he’ll handle it with ease.
“I think he’s going to be a kick-ass Spider-Man,” he told ScreenGeek. “I think he’s going to be the best Spider-Man yet.”
Of course, both Maguire and Garfield set the bar high but I do agree with Mackie; I’m confident Tom Holland will deliver the best big screen Spider-Man performance yet.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 6, 2017, and stars Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Donald Glover, Michael Keaton, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah and Hannibal Buress.
