James McAvoy Thought ‘Logan’ Was “Beautifully Done”

Logan has been out for almost two weeks now, and fans can’t get enough of it. Among those who have praised the film is James McAvoy, who portrays the younger version of Professor X. At the SXSW premiere of Atomic Blonde, McAvoy shared his thoughts.

“It was cool. It was really awesome. And I thought it was beautifully done,” McAvoy elaborated. “And just really great to see these stories that we’re seeing told a lot, actually, just taken somewhere incredibly different.”

“I know I’ve got another 40 years of making these movies.”

Taking films in this universe in different directions than we’re used to, that can stand on their own and be just as, if not more enjoyable than installments to the main trilogies is exactly what Mangold was going for. With the likes of Logan and last year’s Deadpool, standalone films in the X-universe have proven to go over much better with fans and critics. Hopefully the studio learns from this and incorporates more of these ideals in their future films.

What do you guys think? Has Logan won you over as the best film to come out of Fox’s X-universe? Let us know in the comments as well as on our Twitter and Instagram!
