‘Man Of Steel’ Star Michael Shannon Frontrunner To Play Cable In ‘Deadpool 2’

After a teaser trailer was released online that premiered exclusively with Logan earlier this month, it looks like the news is starting to pick up on the Deadpool 2 project after finding its new director.

Near the end of 2016, there was a falling out between star Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller about the content of the movie compared to its competitors. About a month later, David Leitch was chosen to replace Miller.

After a slew of rumors on when filming would start and who would play the prospective time-traveling character, Cable, it seems that Fox might have found its target (or frontrunner for now).

Michael Shannon, who previously starred as General Zod in both Man Of Steel and Batman vs. Superman, is being eyed as the frontrunner to play the character. This comes after rumors of Brad Pitt being eyed for the role leaked in the past few days.

Although there are several other names on the prospective list, it seems that Michael Shannon is the primary target for Fox Studios. Other names mentioned were David Harbour, Kyle Chandler, and Jon Perlman.
