New Leaked Box Art For ‘Call Of Duty: WW II’ Hits The Web

In February during an earnings call, Activision noted that sales for Call of Duty‘s most recent title  – which took the franchise even further into the future – weren’t doing as well as they had originally hoped. “Traditional combat” was said to return in the subsequent game after Infinite Warfare, and a new leak seems to have confirmed Call of Duty‘s return to what made the franchise a smash hit in 2003.

If these images are any indication, the leaked box art and various images reveal that this year’s Call of Duty title will once again head back in time and use World War II as its setting. I for one, wasn’t a fan of the futuristic games Call of Duty’s been producing over the past few years, so seeing the franchise is most likely moving back to more a grounded and gritty time in American history is immediately intriguing to me.

The images are said to have been sent to the YouTube channel TheFamilyVideoGamers who then waited a week to release them to the public. My guess is that they waited to check to see if they were legit before deciding to share the supposed leak.

Neither Activision or Sledgehammer Games has commented on the supposed leak.

Most CoD titles are revealed in late March – early April so whether this is true or not, we should be hearing from Sledgehammer Games – the studio developing this year’s title – very shortly.

Who knows, if Call of Duty: WWII turns out to be real… might we also get a return of Nazi Zombies as well?
