Rob Liefeld Says Deadpool And Domino Will Have “Spectacular Chemistry”

We learned a few months ago that there are big plans for Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool within the X-Men cinematic universe, which is no surprise, considering the insane success of the Deadpool movie last year. The sequel, which is expected to commence production soon, will lay the groundwork for the upcoming X-Force movie by introducing two new characters to the mix: Cable and Domino, the former of which is rumored to be played by Man Of Steel star Michael Shannon.

Atlanta star Zazie Beetz will take on the role of Domino, a skilled markswoman and fighter who possesses subconscious telekinetic abilities that affect her surroundings in a way that makes it seem like she simply always gets lucky (especially in combat scenarios) and her enemies don’t. In Deadpool 2, Zazie Beetz and Ryan Reynolds’ characters will have a very special relationship with Deadpool, the character’s creator Rob Liefeld revealed in a recent interview with

“I’m telling you, having been around Ryan multiple times that mouth cannot be stopped… I don’t think he can say the jokes as fast as they are backed up in his head. So, you need… some of these people be like ‘oh hey, this girl should have been Domino, and pick out actress a through z’ and I’d be like ‘I’m not sure that they can keep up with him’ and oh my gosh, I’m not sure that Ryan’s gonna keep up with her[Beetz]… That chemistry is going to be spectacular.’ And that’s what it comes down to is the chemistry with these characters.”

Deadpool 2 will be written by the same screenwriter duo who also penned the first film; Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. John Wick helmer David Leitch will be sitting in the director’s chair. A release date has not yet been announced, however, we can expect that to come fairly soon.
