First Trailer For SyFy’s ‘Krypton’ Show Hits The Web

The first trailer for SyFy’s Krypton has been released, which is a prequel series that revolves around the civilization of the planet Krypton. Look at the new trailer below.

The trailer revolves around Superman/Kal-El’s grandfather Seg-El and the El family. The show will show the rise of that family, and the background of the civilization of that planet. Man of Steel’s prologue explored that a bit, and most fans thought that was one of the highlights of the movie. It’s prequel to Man of Steel, so it is set in the DCEU. This is the first offical DCEU TV show.

The official synopsis is as follows:

Syfy’s Krypton, the much-anticipated Superman prequel set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, will follow Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Krypton will be produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy) through his Phantom Four banner. Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) will serve as executive producer/showrunner. Colm McCarthy (She Who Brings Gifts, Peaky Blinders) directs and co-executive produces the pilot. The pilot is written by David S. Goyer & Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). It will be produced by Warner Horizon Television.

This show could actually be very interesting and give us some insight on the planet of Krypton. It looks like there’s going to be some political intrigue with fantasy/sci-fi elements. It will also most likely explore why this planet failed.

There’s no official release date, but the promo does say 2017.
