Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to be one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, not only for the opportunity for fans to return to a galaxy far, far away but also for the large impact it will leave on the world as it is Carrie Fisher’s final film as Leia Organa, one of the most iconic and popular fictional characters of all time. Carrie Fisher’s untimely death shocked the world, and many have recalled the abundance of happiness and humor she left while working, including The Force Awakens co-star Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron, who recently recounted how much he enjoyed working with her on the set of The Last Jedi.
During a recent interview with the Force Awakens star, Isaac described Fisher as having a kind of gravity toward her as an actress and he was incredibly happy to have had the honor of working with her. Isaac also spoke on one of his favorite memories with her on the set of The Last Jedi, which he has also stated to be one of his favorite scenes to ever film, saying:
“We did about 25 takes total. Half of them were on me and half of them were on her… There was a scene where there was some physicality there and it was shot just over and over and over. She relished the physicality of it, let me just say. It was pretty intense. It will be funny to see what they cut together based on that.”
Considering Oscar Isaac to be only one of many Star Wars co-stars of Carrie Fisher to proclaim how much of a joy she was to work with, it is disheartening to know she will not be returning. Although The Last Jedi will be Carrie Fisher’s final film as Leia, it has been said that her role in the coming film will be much more significant than her role in The Force Awakens so fans can look forward to seeing a good amount of Leia this December.
Carrie Fisher can be seen as General/Princess Leia along with Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron and more when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres on December 15th.
