The cinematic Monsterverse is quickly expanding, and with Godzilla’s sequel coming in two years, casting is well underway. Today, it has been announced that the film’s roster has picked up Zhang Ziyi as well as Bradley Whitford. The former has signed on to not only participate in this film, but to be a sort of staple within the Monsterverse. Bradley Whitford, hot off the success of Get Out, has been slated to portray someone known as Dr. Stanton. Though this is the only information that accompanied the casting announcements, information is sure to follow with the two characters. In addition, Godzilla: King of Monsters‘ director Mike Dougherty took to Twitter to answer some fan questions about the look for Godzilla in the film as well as his screen time and whether or not it’d be more substantial than in the first movie.

It will be very interesting to see how they change Godzilla’s appearance for the sequel, especially considering we’ll be seeing him a whole lot more of him. The film is slated to release March 22 of 2019 and in addition to the two members just added, the cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe, Aisha Hinds, Charles Dance, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins, Thomas Middleditch, Randy Havens, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Be sure to stay tuned for updates on all things in the Monsterverse!
