Universal’s Dark Universe Expands Its Monster Roster

The Mummy has just released this weekend and fans have been long awaiting the kickoff of Universal’s Dark Universe. With the release comes the excitement for what’s in store, and producer Alex Kurtzman (who is also creatively in charge the entire Dark Universe) has fed into that excitement during an interview with Fandom.

“We know we’re going to do Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Invisible Man.”

In addition to these new monsters joining, it has been confirmed that the Wolfman will show up in future Dark Universe films, with Dwayne Johnson rumored to be the desired actor for the role. With Bride of Frankenstein being the next film in this universe to be released on Valentine’s Day of 2019, it’s rumored that Angelina Jolie is being eyed for that role. Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem have already been cast as the Invisible Man and Frankenstein, respectively, and we’ll have to wait for further casting announcements on the other monsters. Be sure to stay tuned for updates on all things Dark Universe!
