‘Iron Fist’ Renewed For Second Season And Gets A New Showrunner

Iron Fist has been recently renewed for Season 2 on Netflix, and will get a new showrunner, Raven Metzner, replacing the previous one Scott Buck. Marvel executive Jeph Loeb talked about Metzner and  the future of the show at Comic Con.

“Raven’s love of all things Iron Fist and his extensive knowledge of martial arts films made him the perfect choice to continue telling the adventures of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing,” Loeb said. “Season One and The Defenders are only the beginning of this fantastic action packed tale.”

It’s a good thing Metzner sounds passionate about Iron Fist. The show’s first season had a very mixed reception, with most people saying it’s the weakest show of the four.

The show definitely needs new blood to make it fresh. The show definitely needs better fight scenes, and with Leob’s statement about Metzner’s knowledge about martial arts film, it sounds like the show is in good hands.

Loeb mentioned that Misty Knight from Luke Cage, will be appearing this season. Danny Rand and Knight have a romantic relationship in the comics, but that probably won’t happen, since he is involved with Colleen Wing right now.
