Ben Affleck On Working With Both Joss Whedon And Zack Snyder On ‘Justice League’

Right now Justice League is currently going through reshoots, with original director Zack Snyder stepping down due to a family, and Avengers director taking on the helm. Batman himself Ben Affleck talked to EW about what it’s like to work with two different directors on a big film like this.

“It’s a little bit unorthodox,” said Affleck. “Zack had a family tragedy, and stepped off, which was horrible. For the movie, the best person we could’ve possibly found was Joss. We got really lucky that he stepped in. An interesting product of two directors, both with kind of unique visions, both with really strong takes. I’ve never had that experience before making a movie. I have to say, I really love working with Zack, and I really love the stuff we’ve done with Joss.”

While reshoots were always planned for this movie, it’s really interesting how two big time directors will have their fingerprints on this film. Most of the film’s production has been completed by Synder, and Whedon is putting in the final touches to make it better.

Affleck went on to talk about his own experience with reshoots on his own self directed movies.

“I’ve never worked on a movie that didn’t do reshoots, Argo, we did reshoots for a week and a half! Four days on Gone Baby Gone. This is a really nice time to work in DC. They’re hitting their stride. They’re getting it right. It’s starting to feel like it’s really working.”

It’s nice to hear that Affleck sounds positive about his role in the DCEU, after negative rumors of him came out saying he won’t play Batman anymore after Justice League.
