‘The Punisher’ Wont Be Affected By Critical Failure Of ‘Iron Fist’

Iron Fist, unfortunately, has been deemed the weakest link of the Netflix corner of the MCU thus far. Though critic opinions are not always the most important, and there are those (including myself) who thoroughly enjoyed the series, its inability to perform on the level of the other shows, this becomes worrisome for the future series’ to come. The first to follow The Defenders is The Punisher. After seeing Jon Bernthal’s performance in season 2 of Daredevil, fans are aching to see his solo outing. Should we now be worried that it won’t live up to expectations? Jon Bernthal doesn’t think so.

“For me, with all due respect, it’s not about reviewers. I promised them I’d do my best to try to get this right — and I hope we did. One thing I can say is we fought hard.”

It doesn’t seem like Bernthal would drop the ball on the character between Daredevil and The Punisher, so we should rest easy knowing that the character is in good hands. Perhaps it’d be more cause for concern if we hadn’t seen him on screen yet, but we’ve already been exposed to his character and the studio has seen what works for him, and will surely play off of that in his show. We still have a ways to wait until it streams, so be sure to stay tuned for updates on all things The Punisher!
