It seems like season 3 of Daredevil will be delving into the Born Again storyline from the comics, but that’s all we’ve got so far. Though we are unsure of where we’ll see the series pick up with Matt Murdock, Charlie Cox has already opened up about what he hopes to see develop for the character in the coming season.
“I don’t know. I don’t know what they’re thinking or planning for Season 3. I’d like to see the relationship with Karen figure itself out. I’d like Matt to be able to find that vulnerability that is required, in order to be honest, up front and vulnerable with someone that he cares greatly about. Hopefully, he’s learned some lessons from The Defenders. Hopefully, he’s learned that sometimes we need each other. He believes in God and maybe he’s beginning to understand that God gave us each other for a reason, and he doesn’t have to be so stubborn in his need and desire to do everything by himself.”
Up until now, we’ve seen a Daredevil who wants to shut everyone out of his life because he thinks that he only puts them in danger by putting on the mask. It would certainly add a great dynamic to his character to have him flip his views and realize that he needs to let those who are close to him stay close to him. This would especially make sense after the events of The Defenders because we could see Matt realize that there are things that occur which he cannot handle on his own. Even if Karen and Foggy aren’t on the streets with him, they still serve a very important purpose in his life and hopefully Matt will come to that realization in season 3. Updates are sure to follow as production gets underway this fall, so be sure to stay tuned for updates on all things Daredevil!
